Result: Lost by 5 wkts Welney Croft: 200 - 6 (40 overs) Hockwold: 203 - 5 (32 overs)
EASY WIN FOR HOCKWOLD
Welney won the toss and opted to bat first. Croft started steadily with Stephen Revett (12) and Duncan Hobbs opening, and it wasn’t until the 11th over with the score on 28 that Revett departed, bowled by Bland. Dennis Birch followed the next over, suffering a similar fate, bowled this time by Groom. However, Hobbs remained ever resilient, batting for just over 2 hours for his knock of 64, unfortunately run out for the fourth wicket down with the score on a healthy 153. The middle order batting kept the runs flowing with Gareth Kent (34), Neil Parkinson (29) and Steve Saberton (28) all contributing. Ashley Inwood and Stephen Kent were both 0 not out at the close of the innings, having came to the crease in the final over. Innings closed at 200 for 6wkts.

Duncan Hobbs 64 (10 x 4’s), Gareth Kent 34 (7 x 4’s), Neil Parkinson 29 (4 x 4’s), Steve Saberton 28 (4 x 4’s)

After the tea Hockwold soon lost opener Martin, second ball, caught Saberton bowled Bulsara. Two wickets then fell, both to Percy Bulsara with the visitors on 46, but No.3 bat Bland was giving few chances in a great display of stroke play, his century plus (121) being achieved in 110 minutes, including two 6’s and sixteen 4’s. His was the last wicket to fall, caught in the deep outfield by Stephen Kent off John Loveday’s bowling. M.Palmer (41) and C.Smith (7) were both not out, seeing Hockwold pass their target of 200 for the loss of only 5 wickets with 8 overs to spare. Best of the home bowlers being Percy Bulsara taking 3 for 28.

Team - John Loveday (captain), Stephen Revett, Neil Parkinson, Duncan Hobbs, Percy Bulsara, Steve Saberton, Ashley Inwood, Dennis Birch, Gareth Kent, Stephen Kent, Oliver Revett.
