Result: Lost by 40 runs Welney Croft: 160 all out (30.3 overs) Chrishall: 200 - 7 (40 overs)
Played at Chrishall, near Duxford on a sunny & warm Sunday afternoon and again coinciding with the War Museums Air Show nearby.

Welney won the toss with Chrishall batting first. After a promising start, Steve Saberton bowled opener Cockburn fourth ball, Croft's fielders then suffered at the hands of Holmes and Levy, both scoring half centuries in a 103 run second wicket partnership. Levy was bowled by Paul Kaminski, making a rare guest appearance, and Holmes being caught behind by Neil Parkinson off John Loveday - both wickets falling within two overs. Number 5 Wright soon got amongst the runs hitting nine boundaries in his knock of 45. Stephen Revett continued his good form with the ball, first 2 overs being maidens, including the wicket of Porter fifth ball, clean bowled. Last two batsmen, Collyer (12*) and Whyte (13*) scored 24 useful runs in the last 3 overs taking the score to exactly 200 for the loss of 7 wickets.

Bowling – Steve Saberton 2 for 32, John Rowland 2 for 35, John Loveday 1 for 52, Paul Kaminski 1 for 36, Stephen Revett 1 for 26, Stephen Kent 0 for 16.

After the tea interval Crofts innings started well,Stephen Revett (17) and Paul Kaminski (23) adding 39 for the opening partnership, Kaminski falling first after hitting a massive six over a school building. Revett then departed being brilliantly caught and bowled by Ling. Stephen Kent (25) was then going well until unfortunately being run out. Steve Saberton then became the main stay, also hitting a big 6 and four 4's in his knock of 24. The tail wagged a little this week with skipper john Loveday hitting 18 quick runs including 3 boundaries, John Rowland (5*) and young David Goodwin was striking the ball well for 7, before being stumped. The team score closed at 160 all out in the 37th over - 40 runs short.

After this enjoyable friendly match possibly the lasting memory will be seeing the Flight of over 30 Flying Legends of war time aircraft from the Duxford Air Display.
